Konya Mystic Music Festival used to take place every year in December as a part of the ceremonies orginized for Hz. Mevlana’s memorial. For the last two years, it has been held in September instead, as a part of the of Hz. Mevlânâ’s birth anniversary celebrations. Mustafa Çıpan, The Director of The Culture and Tourism Directorate of Konya, expressed that the aim of this change is to expand the activities about Mevlana to the whole year instead of only December.

Turkey, Sudan (Orupaap), USA Native Americans, Kazakhstan (Yesevî Ensemble), Republic of Altay (Shaman Ceremony), Iran (Namâd) and India (Good News) will be represented in this eight day festival and Turkey will take place in the first and the last days.

The art director of the 6th International Mystic Music Festival is Timuçin Çevikoğlu. Enes Evren and Bahadır Uysal are commissioned as Assistant Art Directors. An intensive preliminary work has been done for the festival. In this context, approximately 200 groups, each making music with a mystical essence, were considered carefully. In selecting the groups for the festival, achieving integrity and diversity was the main concern.
